This policy sets forth the basic policy for human rights initiatives in the Core Concep Technologies Inc. Group (hereinafter referred to as “Our Group”).
We believe that our business activities contribute to the sustainable development of industry itself, and we have established Our Group’s Sustainability Basic Policy as “Driving sustainable industrial development through the power of our technology and people.”
Respecting the human rights of stakeholders is essential to the realization of Our Group’s Purpose and Sustainability Basic Policy. Our Group supports the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, and aims to achieve the realization of Our Group’s Purpose and Sustainability Basic Policy by promoting initiatives to respect the human rights of stakeholders based on this policy.
1. Scope and Expectations
This policy applies to all officers and employees of our Group. We also expect and will work to encourage understanding and support of this policy among stakeholders directly involved in our Group’s business, products, or services, particularly our business partners.
2. Respect for Internationally Recognized Human Rights
Our Group respects international human rights norms such as the “International Bill of Human Rights” (the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenants on Human Rights) and the ILO’s “Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work,” and supports the “UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.” Our Group strives to comply with the laws and regulations applicable in the countries and regions where we conduct business activities.
In the event of a conflict between these applicable laws and regulations and international human rights principles, we will pursue respect for international human rights principles to the greatest extent possible.
3. Priority Issues for Our Group
Our Group respects the human rights of all officers and employees, customers, business partners, and other stakeholders. We prohibit all forms of discrimination, forced labor, child labor, and inhumane treatment, and strive to protect appropriate working conditions and environments, including freedom of association, wages, working hours, and safety management.
4. Method of Practicing Respect for Human Rights
Our Group will, in the future, identify negative impacts on human rights through a human rights due diligence system, and work to prevent and mitigate them, evaluate the effectiveness of our efforts, and disclose information. In doing so, we will utilize expertise in human rights and strive to engage in meaningful dialog and consultation with stakeholders.
If it becomes clear that our Group has caused or contributed to negative impacts on human rights, we will take corrective and remedial action. Even if we have not contributed to negative impacts on human rights, if our business, products, or services are linked to negative impacts on human rights, our Group will exercise influence over business partners, suppliers, and other related parties to encourage appropriate action.
We will also strive to establish and operate a grievance mechanism that seeks amicable solutions through dialog and consultation.
Our Group will provide appropriate education and training to officers and employees to ensure that this policy is effectively implemented and reflected in the necessary procedures to embed it throughout our business activities.
The Representative Director, President and CEO, who also serves as the Chairperson of our Sustainability Committee, will take responsibility for overseeing compliance with this policy going forward.
This policy was developed with the support of human rights experts, discussed by the Sustainability Committee of Core Concept Technologies Inc., and approved by the Board of Directors after deliberation.
